Who Wants to Learn to Walk ... Must Walk
As a treadmill specialist, our cooperation partner h/p/cosmos has stood for convincing technology, design and safety in the construction of treadmills in the areas of rehabilitation, competitive sports, sports science, medicine, therapy, performance diagnostics and movement analysis since 1988. The functions, precision and safety of the systems convince athletes and trainers, patients and medical professionals alike worldwide.
Patients in physiotherapy often suffer from movement restrictions. For some patients, even stepping onto the treadmill is difficult. The kardiomed pluto rehabilitation system has a treadmill with a low entry height and extra-long handrails that extend the treadmill over its entire length. This is the safest way for a patient with limited walking ability to use a treadmill. A professional wheelchair ramp is available as an accessory that provides convenient access to the running surface for most types of wheelchairs.
New: Perturbation Training on the Treadmill – Fall Prevention and Improved Gait Stability
h/p/cosmos now offers the “Perturbation” module for the latest generation of treadmills. This module simulates fall scenarios (such as tripping and slipping) through unexpected and destabilizing changes in treadmill speed. Patients can train in a controlled and safe environment to improve their gait stability and reduce the risk of falling.
The intensity, frequency, and duration of perturbations can be individually adjusted or varied randomly within defined limits. Additionally, the perturbation module supports "Dual Tasking," where cognitive tasks distract patients from the physical activity during treadmill use.
For safety reasons, a fall protection system (safety arch or the airwalk ap body weight support system with emergency stop) is required.
